1. About the Platform
Ethika Finance is an independent educational information platform focused on Non-Interest Banking (NIB) in Ghana and West Africa. The Platform provides:
- Educational articles and guides about non-interest banking concepts and products
- A directory of BoG-licensed Non-Interest Banking institutions (updated when licences are gazetted)
- Free financial calculators (Zakat, loan comparison, profit-sharing)
- A halal stock screener based on publicly available data
- A glossary of Non-Interest Banking (NIB) terms
- Curated news about the NIB sector
The Platform is NOT a bank, financial institution, investment advisor, insurance broker, Shariah advisory body, or any regulated financial service.
2. No Financial, Investment, or Religious Advice
2.1 Nothing on this Platform constitutes financial advice, investment advice, Shariah advice, tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product, security, or investment.
2.2 All tools, calculators, and screeners are provided for general educational and illustrative purposes only. Results are estimates and may not reflect actual product terms.
2.3 The Halal Stock Screener applies publicly available AAOIFI methodology to publicly available data. A "Halal" classification does not constitute investment advice or a guarantee of Shariah compliance. Consult a qualified Shariah scholar and licensed investment advisor before making investment decisions.
2.4 The Zakat Calculator provides general guidance only. Zakat obligations vary based on your individual circumstances, madhab, and scholarly opinion. Consult a qualified Shariah scholar for a ruling specific to your situation.
2.5 You agree that Ethika Finance is not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information obtained from this Platform.
3. Educational Content Accuracy
3.1 We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee that all information is current, complete, or error-free.
3.2 Regulatory frameworks, bank products, and financial data change. Always verify current information directly with the relevant institution or regulator (Bank of Ghana: bog.gov.gh).
3.3 We are not affiliated with the Bank of Ghana, SEC Ghana, AAOIFI, or any financial institution listed in our directory.
4. Bank Directory
4.1 The bank directory will list institutions that are licensed for Non-Interest Banking by the Bank of Ghana, based on publicly available BoG records. As of early 2026, no NIB licences had been gazetted; the directory is updated when the BoG publishes licensed institutions.
4.2 Inclusion in our directory does not constitute an endorsement. We do not perform independent financial due diligence on listed institutions.
4.3 Always verify an institution's current licensing status with the Bank of Ghana before opening an account.
5. User Accounts and Newsletter Subscriptions
5.1 If you subscribe to our newsletter, you provide your email address for that purpose. We will use it only to send the Ethika Finance newsletter and related educational updates.
5.2 You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
5.3 You are responsible for maintaining the security of any login credentials you create on the Platform.
6. User-Generated Content
6.1 If you submit information to the Platform (e.g., "Submit Your Bank" form, feedback forms), you grant Ethika a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, publish, and display that content in connection with operating the Platform.
6.2 You represent that any content you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe any third-party rights.
6.3 We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any submitted content.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 All original content on the Platform — including articles, glossary entries, tool designs, graphics, and code — is owned by Ethika Finance or its licensors.
7.2 You may share individual articles by linking to them. You may not reproduce, copy, republish, or distribute our content without written permission.
7.3 The name "Ethika Finance", our logo, and associated marks are trademarks of Ethika Finance Limited. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
7.4 Content attributed to third parties (e.g., BoG directives, AAOIFI standards) remains the property of those parties. We link to original sources.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Scrape, crawl, or extract bulk content or data without permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its systems
- Use the Platform to distribute spam or unsolicited commercial content
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting content
- Use or republish our content in a way that implies official regulatory authority
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any part of our software or tools
9. Third-Party Links and Tools
9.1 The Platform may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party site.
9.2 We use third-party tools including Google Analytics, Brevo (email), and Supabase (database). Use of the Platform is subject to the privacy policies of these third parties to the extent they process your data.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law:
10.1 Ethika Finance is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or reliance on its content.
10.2 We are not liable for: financial losses arising from decisions made based on Platform content or tools; losses arising from inaccurate calculator results; losses arising from reliance on the bank directory or stock screener; losses arising from downtime, technical errors, or data inaccuracies.
10.3 Our total liability to you in any circumstances shall not exceed GHS 100 (one hundred Ghana Cedis).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ethika Finance, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from: your use of the Platform in breach of these Terms; your submission of false or infringing content; your reliance on Platform content without independent verification.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to our data practices as described there.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users via email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
